A Fall Day Itinerary In Amesbury

Explore the magic of fall and plan out your day with ease with our fall day itinerary in Cider Hill Farm’s hometown, Amesbury, MA.

Start Your Day Off at a Coffee Shop or Cafe for Breakfast

Amesbury is home to several coffee shops and cafes where you can get your dose of caffeine and a sweet or savory treat. When you need a quick meal that’s satisfying, head to the Market Square Bakehouse located at 5 Market Square, which serves breakfast sandwiches, quiches, croissants, and all types of coffee. Coastal Moon Cafe at 68 Haverhill Road offers acai bowls, smoothies, scones, and their specialty blueberry and bacon toast. For more of a sit-down experience, The Morning Buzz Cafe offers delicious homemade breakfasts and fresh coffee.

Spend the Late Morning/Early Afternoon Exploring the Town

Visit Cider Hill Farm where you can stop by our farm store, pick your own fruit, grab some pumpkins at our pumpkin stand, attend one of our many festivals, drink some hot apple cider, and eat our famous apple cider donuts. Once you’ve visited Cider Hill Farm and feel content with your selections, head to several different sites and landmarks around the Amesbury area. The Amesbury Riverwalk is a paved walkway between the Lower Millyard in downtown Amesbury and the Carriagetown Marketplace. Popular among families, walkers, and joggers, this riverwalk parallels the Lower Powow River.

For lovers of history, check out the Industrial History Center, located in Amesbury’s historic Upper Millyard. This center provides visitors with a look into Amesbury’s rich industrial history, offering an orientation exhibit and rotating exhibits.

Discover open and rolling meadows, sprawling wetlands, and stands of birch, beech, and oak at Woodsom Farm. This farm acts primarily as a conservation land for Amesbury’s Powow River watershed but is fully open to the public. Bring your dog along or have a little picnic among the farm’s meadows.

Shop for Gifts in Amesbury’s Downtown

Within Amesbury’s downtown, there are many shops to explore. If you’re looking for artsy gifts, check out Alchemy + Art, Eighteen Friend Street, Farm and Sea, and Lee & Co. For clothing, head to Caravan Boutique, Billie’s, and Trendsetter’s Boutique. If you have children at home and want to get them something special just in time for the holiday season, shop at Smith & Saylor or Toy Soldier Games.

Choose from Several Different Restaurants for a Nice Meal

In Amesbury, you’ll find a variety of go-to local pizza places and classic sit-down restaurants. For pizza enthusiasts, check out the Flatbread Company, where they use all local ingredients to make pizza. The Barn Pub & Grille offers a pub-style atmosphere with an additional gluten-free menu. Hoppy’s Cantina is a taco restaurant serving delicious margaritas. For those who are on a vegetarian diet, check out Wild Garlic, a takeout vegetarian bistro serving different varieties of soup, pasta, and salads.

Those who are 21+ can end the day visiting Amesbury’s several breweries and bars— Barewolf Brewing, Brewery Silvaticus, Fortune Bar, Outrider Beer Company, and Mill 77 Brewing
