BEHIND THE SCENES

Growing Blueberries

Blueberries may seem low-maintenance, but behind the scenes, they’re anything but. Across our three fields, each planting is carefully tended to support healthy, consistent harvests year after year. From pruning and soil care to constant monitoring throughout the season, there’s a steady rhythm of work that keeps the bushes productive and the fruit flavorful.

And when the berries start to ripen, the real race begins because we’re not the only ones who love them. Each field is fully netted to protect the crop from birds, a time-intensive process that helps ensure there are actually berries left for you to pick. It’s all part of the effort that goes into every handful you take home.

Blueberry Picking FAQs

As we prepare for this year’s harvest, here are some of the questions we’re asked most often.

IS IT RIPE?

Blueberries do not continue to ripen after picked so only pick the bluest, ripest berries.

ROTATING PICKING LOCATIONS

With 3 fields, we rotate picking locations regularly to give the plants time to produce more fruit and to give our field crew a chance to keep everything in great shape. So if you’ve picked blueberries in a certain spot before, don’t be surprised if we send you somewhere new this time. Think of it as a little berry adventure - same sweet berries, just a different corner of the farm!

Weekday BLUEBERRY PICKing
