Pollinator Festival 2023

Cider Hill is celebrating all things bees, butterflies, birds, bats and ladybugs! Help us show some love to creatures essential to our food supply! This week long event features a full line up of FUN happenings with live music, interactive pollinator wing installation, tastings, hands-on family-friendly activities, meet the beekeepers, hayrides, specials and workshops. Here's what's scheduled (subject to change):

Monday 6/19 - Sunday 6/25 - all free and no registration required

  • Interactive Pollinator Wing Installation. Open daily 8 am - 6 pm. Beeeee the pollinators! Take selfies in the fields with assorted bird, butterfly and bee wings hand-painted by local maker Sage & Oak Creative. Learn about the importance of our beloved pollinators along the way. FREE. Open daily. No registration required. Wings painted by local maker, Sage & Oak Creative.

  • Pollinator Coloring Activity Sheets & Stickers. Available daily 8 am - 6 pm. Pick up a pollinator activity sheet and pollinator sticker inside the farm store anytime from 8 am - 6pm. Free. Pick up both at the register. While supplies last.

  • Hive Observation - Spot the Queen Bee! Visit the store 8 am - 6 pm for our own honey, food specials, beeee-autiful decor and visit the observation hive in the bakery to see if you can spot the queen!

 

Monday 6/19 - Juneteenth

  • Meet Savory Lane Tour Company. 10 am - 12 pm. RSVP.

  • Just Bee and Me Pop Up. 11 am  - 2 pm.

  • Tres Latinas Food Truck.11 am - 2 pm. RSVP.

  • Outdoor Hard Cider Bar. 11 am - 4 pm.

  • Free Live Music on the Main Lawn with Joe Wilkins. 12 - 3 pm. RSVP.

  • Charcuterie & Honey. DIY Charcuterie Workshop with the Nosh Box. Multiple sessions. Register.

 

Tuesday 6/20

  • Bee, Butterfly & Bat Stories with Amesbury Public Library. 10 am - 10:45 am. Stories about bees, butterflies, birds, moths, bats or even small mammals that help carry pollen. Free. RSVP.

  • Seed Paper Making Workshop. 11 am. Join Mindy Paper Co. for a 40 minute hands-on session learning to make hand-made seed paper to plant in your garden. $5 per child or $10 per family. Register.

  • Coffee, Honey & Bees… Yes, Please! 9:30 - 11:30 am. Bees play an important role when it comes to coffee acting as a pollination booster. Cider Hill Farm and our friends at Kaha Coffee Roasters are joining forces to honor our essential pollinators with free samples of locally roasted coffee. FREE. RSVP.

 

Wednesday 6/21

  • Farm Tots. Crop tour and planting activity with Farmer Val - 9:30 am - 12:30 pm. Free. Sold Out.

  • Anatomy of a Bee Hive & Jam Tasting. Cider Hill Farm's favorite homesteading beekeeper is sharing her incredible knowledge. Visit her in front of the farm store from 12 - 2 pm. Free.

  • Pollinator Jam Tasting. Without pollinators, we wouldn't have fruit. And without fruit, we wouldn't have jam! Come try some. Free.

  • Sustainable Seas. Ipswich's Eclectic Clam Co. will be on the farm sharing samples and information about the value of eating local food. 11 am - 3 pm

  • Pollinator Themed Scavenger Hunt & Obstacle Course. 8 am - 6 pm. Free.

 

Saturday 6/24

  • Pollinator Themed Scavenger Hunt & Obstacle Course. 8 am - 6 pm. Free. No registration.

  • Free Children's Free Yoga. 9 - 9:45 am. RSVP.

  • Roll Honeycomb Candles, Pollinator Masks & Meet the Beekeepers. 10 am - 12 pm. Join Essex County Beekeepers Association (ECBA) to learn about beehives and roll a bee's wax candle to take home. And visit the children's pollinator activity tent to make n' create wearable bee n' butterfly masks.Free. While supplies last. RSVP.

  • Plant a Pollinator Pot. 10 am - 12 pm. Without pollinators like hummingbirds, butterflies, moths, bees, flies and beetles, we will have less food to eat. Come create a small pot for your own yard to show our pollinators some LOVE to provide them the essential food supply they need! Free. No registration required.

  • For Goodness Oils Pop-Up. Meet this East Kingston small business creating handcrafted small batch natural skincare and bath products infused with 100% Pure Therapeutic Essential Oils. whose products are preservative, chemical, paraben, phlathlate, and synthetic free.

  • Outdoor Hard Cider Bar. 11 am - 4 pm

  • Free Live Music with Sierra & Andrew. 12-3 pm. RSVP.

  • Food Truck. 11 am - 4 pm

Sunday 6/25

  • Pollinator Themed Scavenger Hunt & Obstacle Course. 8 am - 6 pm. Free. No registration.

  • Farm-to-Table Dinner with The Farmer's Dinner. Focus on pollinators. (sold out)

  • Bee & Butterfly Mask Making. 10 am - 12 pm. Visit the children's pollinator activity tent to make n' create wearable bee n' butterfly masks. Free.

  • Outdoor Hard Cider Bar. 12 - 4 pm

  • Free Live Music with The Boondock Sinners. 12-3 pm. RSVP.

  • Food Truck. 11 am - 4 pm
