We are incredibly honored and grateful to be featured in Northshore Magazine, in their recent article highlighting Cider Hill Farm and our journey of savoring life’s simple joys while looking toward the future.
To be recognized by a publication that so thoughtfully tells the stories of the North Shore — its people, places, and passions — truly means the world to us. Farming is never done alone, and this feature is a meaningful reminder that our work resonates beyond our fields.
Rooted in Family, Community, and Tradition
Since our family purchased Cider Hill Farm in 1978, our goal has remained simple: to create a place where people can slow down, connect to the land, and make memories together. What began as a small orchard has grown into a 145-acre, family-owned farm in Amesbury, Massachusetts, shaped by generations of care, hard work, and community support.
Northshore Magazine beautifully captured what matters most to us — the everyday moments that define farm life. From the smell of warm cider donuts in the farm store to children running through the orchard, these are the joys that keep us going year after year.
A Year-Round Farm Experience We’re Proud to Share
We’re thankful for the opportunity to share what makes Cider Hill Farm special with a wider audience:
Pick-Your-Own fruit, flowers, and seasonal produce
Our farm store, home to fresh cider donuts, baked goods, local pantry items, and gifts
Cider Hill Cellars, where we craft hard cider from apples grown right here on the farm
Festivals, live music, and family-friendly events that bring our community together in every season
Each offering reflects our belief that farms can be places of both nourishment and joy.
Looking Ahead While Honoring the Past
As the article noted, farming today requires both tradition and innovation. We’re proud of the steps we’ve taken to ensure Cider Hill Farm remains a vibrant, sustainable destination for years to come — from investing in renewable energy to expanding our programming and growing experiences that welcome new generations to the farm.
We are especially grateful to Jenny and Chris Durocher, whose leadership and vision help guide the farm forward while honoring the values it was built on.
Thank You for Supporting Local Farms
We extend our heartfelt thanks to Northshore Magazine for telling our story with such care, and to our guests, neighbors, staff, and farming community who make Cider Hill Farm what it is.
Your visits, traditions, and support allow us to keep doing what we love — growing food, growing community, and creating a place where life’s simple joys can be savored.
If you haven’t read the article yet, we invite you to do so — and we hope to welcome you to the farm soon.
With gratitude,The Cider Hill Farm Family
