Festival & Picking FAQs

As we prepare for this year’s harvest, here are some of the questions we’re asked most often.

IS IT RIPE?

Blueberries do not continue to ripen after being picked, so only pick the bluest, ripest berries.

ROTATING PICKING LOCATIONS

We have three blueberry fields and one 1.25 acre flower garden. We close blueberry fields regularly to give the plants time to produce more fruit (and to give our field crew a chance to keep everything in great shape). So if you’ve picked blueberries in a certain spot before, don’t be surprised if we send you somewhere new next time. Think of it as a little berry adventure - same sweet blueberries, just a different corner of the farm!

Weekday PICKing

With three blueberry fields and eleven varieties (early season, mid-season and late season), picking is available daily from July 4th through August. It is rare that blueberry picking is closed. Flower cutting is typically open Tuesday - Sunday, and closed on Mondays. It works similarly to weekend options where tickets become available as we monitor the field. The best way to know if tickets are available is to visit our TODAY page on Sunday evenings, where we'll post the upcoming week's availability and online tickets.

BLUEBERRY SEASON LENGTH

Blueberry season here on the farm is relatively long compared to other crops; it typically begins 4th of July weekend and continues through August.

KEEPING UP ON THE BERRY SEASON

Mother Nature rules and the berries follow! It's best to plan ahead:

AND... If you miss blueberry season, fear not! Peach season begins in late July!

PHOTOGRAPHERS & MINI SESSIONS

For those who wish to use the blueberry fields for personal or business use, PYO tickets are required. If you are looking for a private experience, we encourage you to come at the end of the day, closer to 3-4 pm, when fewer people are in the fields. Access to the fields closes promptly at 5:30 pm.

See you in the berry fields!
