About the Event

FAQS

What age range is this program?

Designed for children ages 3.5-8 years old.

*Is this program really free?

It is! This program, designed and run by Cider Hill Farm, has been made free to the public by the incredible generosity of The Charles E. Larner Family Foundation, which helps grow young farmers through agricultural scholarships, grants by promoting agriculture to and helping children. *To make it fair to families who want to participate, each ticket is $8 to hold your spot. When you arrive, we will refund payment of $8 per child. Adults do not register yourself - just register the kiddos.

Do I have to register?

Registation helps us plan for the day's festivities. Siblings ages 2 and under who are not participating in the physical hands-on activity do not need to be registered. All children must be accompanied by an adult. This is not a drop off program.

What does the ticket include?

Each child will have the chance to join the educational tour and will have the chance to plant their own fresh herbs and veggies to bring home. Weekly activity will shift from planting to harvesting as the season goes on!

How often may my child participate?

We welcome your kiddos back each week. Each week might be slightly different or there might be some crossover from the previous week. But that's ok! The farm is changing throughout the season and there is so much to explore and learn. Remain flexible and come participate!

How long will this program run for this season?

This program runs every Wednesday through September. As we get closer to the August, we will shift the program away from planting and into harvesting. Each week will bring something engaging and educational.

May I sign up in advance.

Registration for the following month opens 1 month prior. For example, we will open August registration on July 1.

Do we need to bring anything?

Think green! Feel free to bring (but not required) a 6" upcycled container to plant veggies in! Upcycled container ideas may include a large plastic soda bottle, cardboard or plastic milk carton, tin cans, old tea kettles or a standard pot you already have. This really helps us share message with our little ones to use more and waste less.

How do I cancel my ticket(s)?

We accept 95% refundable cancellations 48 hours in advance so we may open slots to others. We retain 5% to cover ticket processing fees. Alternatively, always feel free to send another child in place!
