Do we bring our own containers?
No, you shouldn’t bring your own containers. We will provide you with our containers which allow us to best measure how much you have picked. If you want to transfer your picked items to another container after the sale, that is up to you.
HOW MUCH DO YOU CHARGE FOR THE DIFFERENT CROPS?
During the summer weekdays we charge per pound. During the fall weekdays & weekends we charge per bag to help the lines move quicker. This also helps to alleviate the surprise of what your final total will be. We offer 1 Peck – up to 4 people and 1/2 Bushel bags- up to 6 people
IS PICKING CHEAPER THAN THE STORE PRICE?
Our pricing for most crops is very similar whether you pick, or we pick for you. This has come from many years of observing high levels of damage caused to our crops by the masses, and though we do appreciate the business, we have no way to salvage the losses.
DO MY KIDS HAVE TO STAY WITH ME WHILE I PICK?
Yes. Please! Especially in the strawberry patch. Little feet can do so much damage while looking for that one big berry. We would like to have children stay arm’s length in the patches, and close by in the open fields. This is not to say that we don’t love having the children come and experience the wonders of our farm.
HOW DO WE KNOW WHICH APPLES ARE READY FOR PICKING?
The best way is to look at the picking guide we provide. You might also want to check with us for advice on the best apples for cooking and eating.
HOW CAN I TELL IF A PEACH IS READY FOR PICKING?
The ground color turns from greenish to yellow, and the peach has a swell to it. Also, make sure you know where we suggest you pick.
